Arsenal Targeting MLS Star – Miguel Almiron

It has been reported that Arsenal is set to pick up the Atlanta United midfielder come January. With around $15 million being the price tag, they are poised to secure one of the top players in the league this season.

Almiron has been incredible for Atlanta this year, ending his regular season early due to injury; with 12 goals, 13 assists in his 32 appearances. He has looked like he belongs in Europe all season, with his ease of touch and versatile play-style, he was bound to leave the MLS sooner than later.

With Arsenal already having other top players at his position, such as Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan; Miguel should continue to develop under them. It would be difficult to imagine him getting many minutes over those types of names, but hopefully, he can get there.

Atlanta United will need all he can provide once the playoffs start as they seek to earn their first Supporters Shield and MLS Cup, after only being in the league for 2 seasons. Easily one of the most impressive starts for an expansion team in North American sports (Las Vegas Golden Knights also being a top spot).  They have provided a spark in the fanbase and have done something no team has done before, get 70,000+ people into a MLS game. It is truly impressive to see Mercedes Benz stadium rocking on a Saturday. Their hunt for the shield will continue on the 21st as they take on Bastian Schweinsteiger and Chicago Fire at home.
